diy felt flower

I found this image online and thought I would give it a try! I was looking for a felt flower in yellow but couldn't seem to find one. Here is my take on how to make a felt flower!

1. Buy a 1/2 meter of felt. (around $5)

2. Cut flower like shape(as seen below) I did not use a pattern I cut out each flower individually... try to make them similar.

  • 4 x bottom layer flower 12" wide
  • 5 x middle layer flower 8" wide
  • 4 x top layer flower 6 " wide
  • 3 x center layer flower 4" wide

3. Fold flower in half and then half again. Try and make folds random so not all the petals look the same. Now tack the petal together once in place(one or two places) so the petal keeps its shape.

4. Layer petals upon petals, start by making the bottom layer and by building up on that. Attach flower petals to one another as you go by hand stitching together (or pin together and do all at the end)

It will start to look like this :)

5. Once the petals are all in place, secure by hand stitching all the petals together in places you will not see hand stitching. Lift up your flower to make sure its all stitched together....

6. Place on pillow case by hand stitching and.... you have your very own felt flower pillow!!

dollarama finds

I made a little trip to dollarama and was surprised to see what I found! I am a sucker for dollar stores....

.
I bought 15 of these frame for $30! They will be put in our living room area :) Also, its so easy to put your own fun matting in the frame, by using scrapbook paper :) just trace the existing matting onto your paper, cut out, and waaaaaahla! so many fun possibilities with these frames.

.

.
These little lanterns are $2! They are soooo cute! I see them at a wedding hanging from a tree all lit, also as wedding favors! How can you go wrong for $2! Also, if the colors are to bold, you could always spray paint them (I'm picturing golds, silvers and creams)
..
I saw these trays for $1.25 and thought they would be really great for serving fruit, desserts, burgers, or just a tray to sit in front of the t.v and eat lunch! These trays make me excited for summer and bbqs!

box o letters

My craft / fabric / box of ideas for things... boxes and bags are filling up our spare bedroom! I decided before I buy or collect anything else, I would go thought my stuff and give it away or do something with it!

I bought a old board game called PROBE for $ 5 at a thrift store a while back. The game consists of these cute letter cards A-Z! Soooo many options with these! I think it would be super cute for a wedding by using to find your name to see what table your at.

I decided to make a jewelery stand. The game comes with a holder for the letter so I used that and linked my necklaces through the holes on the stand.

I also made this you & me for our dresser.

What would you do with the letter cards?

I want spring.. I want spring!

Has anyone ever been into a terrain store by urban outfitters? I just heard of them ...and if I was lucky enough to have a green thumb this is were you would find me! Terrain is eye candy for your garden!!! I would probably spend way to much money at this place so its a good thing plants aren't my thing.

I love the lanterns! Soo pretty.

I love these terrariums... so much fun. They range from $24- $50.

This below is a vertical plant holder. Love it. I think it would even be neat lying down on a table :)

I cannot wait for spring... Just the thought of green grass gives me shivers.. and not the cold ones :)

next day flyers

When me and mr. kipp were engaged we found out from my cousins this terrific website to print stuff for cheap!

We decided we would make our own invitations and have them printed out... :) I was inspired by these photo's below...

After showing mr. kipp these photos he decided he would tackle making our picture for the invitation!!! Because he usually isn't interested in doing anything like this I was really surprised! After a long time on paint (yes, the classic paint program on every computer), he showed me the final product.... and it was perfect! I love it! Here it is :)

Isn't he just awesome :)

After we were married we also designed a postcard to send out to our guests as a thank you! We were really happy the way they turned out...and also how they were sooooooo affordable!

If you ever need anything printed.. they do it all! And for a great price!

fingerprint.. jewelery

While searching on etsy I found a jewelery designer who can take a fingerprint and create beautiful custom jewelery!

http://www.etsy.com/people/fabuluster
:
They send you an Impression Kit in the mail. Once you receive it, imprint your finger and/or your loved ones finger separately. Then you mail it back to them and they make a wax form from the impression material. HOW COOL!

If only I would have seen these before we got married... love the fingerprint inside the ring! Such a fun and unique idea!
